Añoranzas [yearning/homesickness] [saudade] was composed during my residency at the Aspen Music Festival, where it was workshopped with cellist Binh Park. The work was completed in 2016 and premiered by cellist Horacio Contreras at the Latin IS America Festival in Michigan. This piece is part of a set of works that explore the emotions of exile.
